Audience microblogging service Twitter broke the mark of half a billion accounts in June 2012. These data were presented by 30 July Semiocast. Representatives of Twitter does not disclose the total number of registered accounts.
In March 2012, the service has counted 140 million active users. In June, the head of Twitter reported that the daily service is published at 400 million tweets.
